History

Poulsbo Artists League (PAL) has supported Fine Arts in Kitsap County for over 42 years. In 1982, a group of local artists interested in sharing their love of art, created the Poulsbo Artists League. Meeting weekly all year long, PAL provides members with a warm and welcoming place to create art, while meeting old and new friends.

Member Testimonies

“I have been a member of the Poulsbo Artists League since the early days.  In those days we met in the old North Kitsap Armory on Jensen Way, which is now a parking lot.  Mary Heffner and Alberta Cramsey started the group in the 80’s.  I used to paint with Oils, but then fell in love with Watercolor.  I also love working with Collage and Pen & Ink.”  Elizabeth Haney

“I joined PAL about 6 years ago when we moved to Poulsbo. The weekly meetings are where learning and sharing with other artists happens. They have helped me improve as an artist, are relaxed and fun and a great place to meet new people.” Kay Boyce

“Interaction with other members has helped me grow and evolve as an artist.  I enjoy learning about new techniques and materials.  It is fun to visit with other artists, and the PAL group is very welcoming and friendly.”  Janie Easley Ballard

Artists need each other. We need to get out of our studios every so often and connect with other creative people who share the language of making art. PAL helps me do that. I’m inspired and encouraged by my art friends every time I come to PAL. Bill Fulton
